UC Berkeley students wrap up with a Seminar with SP Jain and NUS students
On 31 July, the 2013 Tata Social Internship wrap-up seminar was held with students from UC Berkeley (US), S P Jain Institute of Management & Research (Mumbai) and NUS (Singapore). The UC Berkeley students had interned for two months on the corporate sustainability projects of Tata companies while the SPJIMR students had partaken in the college’s Development of Corporate Citizenship programme, while the NUS students were part of an SPJIMR exchange programme. Presentations were made on three topics: health, affirmative action, and measuring CSR. The interaction enabled valuable discussion on these topics, as well as, a cross-cultural exchange. Dr Sesha Iyer, the director, SPJIMR as well as faculty members, Lawrence Cohen, the director for Center for South Asian Studies at Berkeley, Marissa Smith from the US consulate and Tata representatives were also present.
